Launch Of Création Africa Ghana in Accra

On November 13th, 2023, the French Embassy in Ghana launched Création Africa Ghana (CAG), heralding a new chapter in the empowerment of entrepreneurs in Ghana’s Cultural and Creative Industries (CCIs). Création Africa Ghana is part of the broader Création Africa project, which currently involves 17 African countries. Its primary objective is to foster the integration of cultural and creative actors and creators into economic sectors, bridging the gap between artistry and entrepreneurship.

The launch event was filled with a blend of culture, music, and artistic performances. Guests were treated to captivating music by AFD Digital Challenge champion, Oroko Radio, alongside their DJs SoulaBabe and Elinam Yaa, followed by a performance by Mawcom X. Nana Danso Awuah-Asante, the artist behind Artsoul Kojo, also conducted a live painting session during the ceremony, with the produced artwork now part of the collection at the residence of the French Ambassador.

A pivotal component of the CAG initiative, the Call for Proposals, was also launched during the ceremony. The Call, which closed on December 22nd, 2023, invited aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators to submit their projects for the chance to receive mentorship, resources, and funding through an incubation program facilitated by Impact Hub Accra. The program adopts a beneficiary-centred approach, offering comprehensive support from ideation to acceleration.
