Africa International Film Festival in Lagos, Nigeria

Kuukua Eshun, filmmaker, and Ike Yemoh, film producer, attended the 12th edition of the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF), held in Lagos, Nigeria, from October 6th to 8th, 2023. With over 70,000 visitors, the event is positioned as the largest annual gathering for African filmmakers. It seeks to promote idea exchange, foster production connections, and build valuable business relationships between participants.

The Ghanaian delegation had the opportunity to present their projects to 14 audiovisual professionals from France attending AFRIFF on the invitation of the French Embassy in Nigeria. They included Léa Baron, Alexandre Rideau, Francis Nebot, Pape Boye, Souraya Kessaria, Denis Cougnaud, Axel Guyot, Nadira Shakur, Thomas Rosso, Alain Modot, Charles Eddy, Manuela Cassuto, and Sébastien Hussenot.

The delegation also participated in various masterclasses and workshops aimed at encouraging discourse on relevant industry matters, including "Legal Matters Arising in Talent Representation" and policies for a thriving environment for the African Film and TV industry.

AFRIFF served as a great networking platform, laying the foundation for potential collaborations with filmmakers in Nigeria, France, and beyond.
