Junaid Timtooni Yakubu

Cinematheque Timtooni is a community cinema and creative hub in Tamale, Northern Ghana, designed to rebuild the region’s film ecosystem by bringing together exhibition, community, and production in one space. Through weekly film screenings, a café for creative exchange, and a hands-on mentorship program that supports emerging filmmakers to produce and showcase their own work within the space, the project creates a full cycle where audiences become creators. At its core is a distribution model that gives Ghanaian films extended theatrical runs while sharing revenue directly with filmmakers. Cinematheque Timtooni aims to become the home for cinema in Northern Ghana and a catalyst for a new wave of storytelling from the region.
