Accra Indie Filmfest Returns for its 8th Edition

The Embassy of France in Ghana is proud to be supporting the 8th Edition of the Accra Indie Filmfest, reaffirming its commitment to strengthening Ghana's film ecosystem and championing the growing cultural and creative industries.

Taking place from 27th to 31st July 2026 at Alliance Française d'Accra, this year's festival is being held under the inspiring theme "Resilience in Motion." Over five days, the festival is bringing together filmmakers, producers, students, industry professionals and film enthusiasts for a vibrant celebration of African storytelling through screenings, dialogue, networking and creative exchange.

The festival is opening on Monday, 27 July 2026, with a red-carpet reception at 6:00 p.m. GMT, followed by the Opening Ceremony at 7:00 p.m. GMT.

As one of Ghana's leading platforms for independent cinema, the Accra Indie Filmfest is continuing to celebrate original voices while creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge sharing and professional development across the film industry. The Embassy of France in Ghana believes that culture remains a powerful catalyst for dialogue, innovation and sustainable development. Through Creation Africa Ghana, its flagship programme supporting entrepreneurs and professionals across Ghana's cultural and creative industries, the Embassy is continuing to invest in initiatives that nurture talent, strengthen creative enterprises and create international opportunities.
